As they grow up the thirst for knowledge and creativity starts growing, so does the method. The language skills follow accordingly. Listening and speaking should be integrated at the primary level followed by reading and writing.
The teacher should briefly summarise a book in the class and then make the children curious to read it. GROUP WORK Each group to write a story or read one and enact it in the class or leave an open ending so that it encourages the others to come up with their creative ideas which will also reflect on the child's observational skill.
There are innumerable ways to satiate the interest of the students. Here she can combine with other subjects as well as discuss about the environment around which the children are growing up. A film show, preferably an adaptation of a well known literary work, can be very useful.
Post-screening, the teacher can explain the differences between the book and the film. So, students should be encouraged to think on a book and then write about it with their own ideas.
The procedure would work gradually and definitely help the children to come out with their creativity. The regular use of dictionary will add to their knowledge of the rich language and its usage. Finally, most important is writing of a diary regularly. Just a 15 minutes task everyday, to record and reflect on the day's activities also enhance their flair of writing.
The whole process should be repeated for about a month to make the students understand its importance. Creative writing will help develop a taste for the language.
